BOOK A CLASS

Q: Hometown?

A: Staten Island, NY

Q: Song that gets you DO-ing?

A: One song?! C'est impossible, so here is an essay. I love me a good throwback – old school Britney, No Doubt, JT (if I could play Sexy Back in every class, I would). Whitney, Madonna, and Mariah are legends, the holy trinity of sound, if you will. I’ve been on a tremendous Robyn kick lately; her music just makes me happy to exist. Rock/Pop Punk is also my jam: Queen, U2, The Killers, Blink-182, New Found Glory, etc.

Q: Best thing you #JaneDID?

A: Becoming a fitness trainer is one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve ever done. I work full-time in book publishing, which I love, but it’s ultimately a very sedentary job. I decided to get certified in group fitness about 7 years ago as a “side hustle,” and it has been a love affair ever since.

Q: Top of your to-DO list?

A: Travel, travel, travel. I want to hit up all 7 continents. Visiting new places is the ultimate thrill and learning experience – the history, the culture, the people. I always find that I learn more about myself when I’m out of my element.

Q: Guilty pleasure?

A: 1. Ice cream. By the pint. 2. Wine. ALL the wine. 3. BRIDGERTON. Preferably, these would all happen simultaneously. I am a maximalist.

Q: Who’s your best friend?

A: Behind this Jane gal is the ultimate Jane dude. My husband is my ultimate ride or die. But I also firmly believe in the marriage of friendship, and I am blessed to be surrounded by the most amazing circle of women. They know very intimately who they are ☺

Q: Your greatest strength?

A: I believe it was the wise Ron Swanson of Parks and Recreation that once said: “Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing.” I whole-ass things. When I’m invested in something, I put a lot of energy into it. This little quote has taught me two very important things in life: hard work DOES pay off and never underestimate the value of TV-wisdom.

Q: Where do you find your strength?

A: My mom passed away recently, and very suddenly. There have been days where I haven’t been able to get myself off the bathroom floor. Surviving the worst reminds you that you are stronger than you could ever imagine; ultimately, my mom taught me that. She gave me her strength, and I try to live be her wisdom and example every day.

Q: Hidden talent?

A: While I can’t hold a note to save my actual life, I can lip sync with the best them. I’m just waiting for Lip Sync Battle to open the floor to non-celebs and I will be all over that sh*t. Oh, and I’m weirdly good with numbers. I find genuine enjoyment in balancing my own and others financials. Go figure.

Q: Worth it splurge?

A: I like a pricey meal, a good Broadway show, and plenty of well-calibrated cocktails. I will bargain shop online with the best of them, but I really don’t blink at spending money on experiences. It’s my favorite way to catch-up with friends and family, and experience more of the city.

Q: Vacation Destination?

A: Peru! I have this fear that they’re eventually going to close off Machu Picchu to tourists and I MUST hike there before it happens.

Q: What is the last thing you Googled?

A: Ha! My legitimate last search was for nipple covers. It’s a tough world out there, gotta keep the girls safe.
