Hey Janes, it’s that magical time of the year again where we want to get personal about your GIRLS… the ones in your sports bra. Knockers, tatas, jugs, or bee stings, we want you to live your BREAST life this month!
October is breast cancer awareness month, so it’s time to get comfortable with your girls. And while breast cancer cannot yet be prevented, early detection can save your life. Doctors recommend giving yourself a quick check at least once a month to really get to know your body, that way you can recognize any changes early on. Mammograms can detect tumors even before you can feel them, so if you have concerns, or are over 40 you should be getting a yearly test.
But this month is about more than just breast exams and an excuse to wear pink, it’s about body awareness, taking charge of your feminine health, and celebrating your sisters. October is filled with walks, marathons, and gatherings to support and uplift cancer survivors, their families, friends, and advocates. And shouldn’t we all be advocates for our bodies and boobies!
So grab your girls (the ones down your shirt and in your tribe) and get to walking, talking, and celebrating your health, happiness, and strength this October.
